If you have a Chase credit card, there's a good chance you already have access to free DoorDash DashPass, plus monthly or quarterly DoorDash promos depending on your card. The Chase Sapphire Reserve® now gets up to $35 a month in DoorDash promos. Most cardholders never fully use them.
DoorDash updated the Chase benefits on October 1, 2026. This guide breaks down what each card gets, how to activate, and how to make sure you're not leaving any monthly promo on the table.
What's New in October 2026
- Sapphire Reserve's $5 restaurant promo became a $15 monthly promo. Starting October 1, 2026, Chase Sapphire Reserve® and J.P. Morgan Reserve cardmembers get a $15 monthly promo that replaces the previous $5 restaurant promo. The two $10 monthly non-restaurant promos stay, for up to $35 a month. Here's how to keep all three straight.
- Sapphire DashPass extended through 12/31/29. Chase Sapphire Reserve® and Chase Sapphire Preferred® cardmembers who activate by 12/31/28 get free DashPass through 12/31/29.
- Co-brand cards get a monthly promo. Chase co-brand cardmembers who activate DashPass for the first time between 9/1/26 and 12/31/27 get a $10 non-restaurant promo every month, instead of every quarter.

For the Chase Sapphire Reserve®: points are not earned until after the first $300 is spent annually on travel purchases. The first $300 goes toward the $300 Annual Travel Credit.
- Apple Pay and Google Pay don't qualify. Payments through third-party wallets aren't eligible. Add your Chase card number directly to your DoorDash wallet.
- One DashPass per DoorDash account. Only one Chase DashPass membership, and one set of promos, can be tied to a DoorDash account at a time.
What Is DashPass and What Does It Include?
DashPass is DoorDash's membership program. It normally costs $9.99 a month.
What DashPass includes:
- $0 delivery fees on eligible restaurant, grocery, and convenience orders from DashPass merchants that meet the subtotal minimum shown in the app
- Reduced service fees on those same eligible orders
- Works on both DoorDash and Caviar with the same login

How to Activate Your Free DashPass (Step-by-Step)
Step 1: Open the activation page or the DoorDash app
Visit doordash.com/dashpass/partner/chase/card or open the DoorDash app. If you don't have an account, create one.
Step 2: Add your eligible Chase card to your DoorDash wallet
In the app, tap the Me icon, then Settings, Payment, Add Payment Method, and Credit/Debit Card. Enter your Chase card number, expiration date, CVV, and the ZIP code for your card's billing address. Apple Pay and Google Pay don't qualify. Set the Chase card as your default payment method.
Step 3: Activate DashPass
Follow the activation prompt. If you already pay for DashPass, the Chase membership replaces it and you stop being charged.
Step 4: Check that your promos appear
- Sapphire Reserve: the app shows your $15 promo first. Once you use it, your $10 promos appear.
- Sapphire Preferred: your $10 monthly non-restaurant promo
- Freedom and Slate: your $10 quarterly non-restaurant promo
- Co-brand cards: your $10 monthly or quarterly non-restaurant promo
Not seeing your promo? Update the DoorDash app, sign out and back in, or delete and re-add your Chase card. If you already had a paid DashPass, DoorDash may ask you to end it before the Chase benefit activates.
Have a business card and a personal card? Only one DashPass, and one set of promos, can be tied to a DoorDash account. To use both, DoorDash says to create two separate DoorDash accounts with different email addresses.
How to Actually Use Your Monthly Promos (Don't Let Them Expire)
Promos don't roll over. If you don't use one in its month or quarter, it's gone.
Chase Sapphire Reserve: Up to $35 a Month
You get three promos each month: one $15 promo and two $10 non-restaurant promos.
The $15 monthly promo (new October 1, 2026):
- Replaces the old $5 restaurant promo
- Shows up first by default at checkout, since it's the highest-value promo
- Resets each month, and unused value doesn't carry over
The two $10 non-restaurant promos:
- Only one $10 promo can be used per order, so plan two separate orders
- They don't apply automatically: toggle the Chase promo on when you view your cart
- If an order uses less than $10, the rest of that promo is forfeited
- Use them on grocery, convenience, retail, and other non-restaurant orders
DoorDash says a new experience will soon let you choose which eligible promo to use on each order.
Total: up to $35 a month, or $420 a year, in DoorDash promos, on top of free DashPass.

Multi-Card Strategy
If you hold more than one eligible Chase card, you can get a second free DashPass period after the first one ends.
How it works:
- Activate DashPass with your highest-benefit card first
- When that free period ends, add your other eligible Chase card and make it your default payment method
- Activate DashPass again to start the new card's free period
Rules to know:
- Only one DashPass can be active on a DoorDash account at a time
- Your benefits follow the Chase card set as your default payment method
- Switching to a card with a different benefit resets your activation and expiration dates
Sapphire cardholders are already covered through 12/31/29, so this is most useful for Freedom, Slate, and co-brand cardholders.
DashPass vs. Competing Delivery Memberships
How DashPass stacks up against Uber One and Grubhub+.
Verdict: DashPass has the broadest restaurant and merchant coverage, and being free with most Chase cards makes it the clear winner for cardholders. Uber One makes more sense if you heavily use Uber for rides. Grubhub+ is worth considering only if your preferred local restaurants are exclusively on Grubhub.
FAQs
Can I use Apple Pay or Google Pay and still get DashPass benefits?
No. Payments through third-party wallets like Apple Pay and Google Pay aren't eligible. Add your Chase card directly to your DoorDash wallet.
Can I share my DashPass with family members?
Chase cardholders can't use DashPass Family Sharing. Sapphire Reserve and Sapphire Preferred cardmembers can add authorized users to their DashPass account.
Can I use promos from a business card and a personal card?
Not on the same DoorDash account. Only one DashPass and one set of promos can be tied to an account. DoorDash says to set up a separate DoorDash account, with a different email, for each card.
What happens after my free DashPass ends?
Freedom, Slate, and co-brand memberships auto-renew at the current rate of $9.99 a month. Sapphire cardmembers who activate by 12/31/28 are covered through 12/31/29.
What happens if I upgrade or downgrade my Chase card?
DoorDash unenrolls you from your current DashPass and asks you to add the new card. If the new card has a different benefit, your membership resets with new activation and expiration dates. If it's the same benefit, your dates stay the same.
Can I stack Chase promos with DoorDash promo codes?
Yes. Chase promos can be combined with up to one other DoorDash cart-level promo.
Do I need to re-activate every month?
No. Your promos load each month or quarter while you're enrolled in DashPass. You just need to toggle them on at checkout.
Does free DashPass work on Caviar?
Yes, DashPass benefits work on Caviar with the same login. The Chase promos aren't available in the Caviar app, though.
