Free DoorDash DashPass with Chase Cards 2026: Up to $300 in Annual Credits
July 1, 2025

If you have a Chase credit card, there's a good chance you already have access to free DoorDash DashPass — worth up to $120 a year in membership value alone, plus up to $300 more in monthly credits depending on your card. Most cardholders never fully use it.
The Chase–DoorDash partnership was updated on February 1, 2025, with revised benefit tiers across all eligible cards. This guide breaks down exactly what each card gets, how to activate in under 3 minutes, and the specific tricks to ensure you're not leaving any monthly credit on the table.
What's New in 2026
Recent changes to the Chase–DoorDash partnership that affect how you use your benefits.
- Updated benefit structure (effective February 1, 2025). Chase restructured the DashPass benefits across all card tiers. Chase Sapphire Reserve® and Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card cardholders now receive recurring monthly non-restaurant promos — these replaced and improved the old flat-credit system.

- Sapphire cards: DashPass free through December 31, 2027. Chase Sapphire Reserve® and Chase Sapphire Preferred® cardholders who activate (or already have an active membership) retain DashPass for free through the end of 2027 — not just for 12 months. This is a much longer runway than most people realize.
- Freedom and co-branded cards: 12 free months upon activation. Chase Freedom Flex®, Chase Freedom Unlimited®, and co-branded cards (Hyatt, Marriott, airline cards) get 12 months of free DashPass when activated by December 31, 2027. After 12 months, the membership auto-renews at the standard rate.
[[ COMPARE_CARD * {"ids": ["2883", "497"], "bestCategoryIds":["17", "18", "19"], "bestForTexts":["Cash Back Rewards", "Fantastic Cash Back Card"]} ]]
- Apple Pay and Google Pay no longer qualify. As of the updated terms, paying via digital wallets does not count toward DashPass benefits. You must use the physical or virtual Chase card number as your payment method.
- Multi-card stacking is now confirmed. If you have multiple eligible Chase cards, you can activate one, and when its promotional period ends, activate a second eligible card for another benefit period.
What Is DashPass and What Does It Include?
The membership benefit explained — and why it's worth $96–$120 per year.
DashPass is DoorDash's subscription program that removes delivery fees and reduces service fees on eligible orders. At $9.99/month (or $96/year billed annually), it pays for itself in roughly 2–3 deliveries.
What DashPass includes:
- $0 delivery fees on eligible restaurant orders over $12
- $0 delivery fees on eligible grocery/convenience orders over $25
- Reduced service fees on all eligible orders (typically 5–10% lower than non-members)
- 5% DashPass Credits back on eligible pickup orders
- Exclusive member-only promotions throughout the year
- Works on both DoorDash and Caviar (must use same login credentials on both)
The math for a regular user: Delivery fees typically run $3–$5 per order. At two orders per week, that's $312–$520 in saved fees annually — before factoring in the reduced service fees and monthly credits available with premium Chase cards.

How to Activate Your Free DashPass (Step-by-Step)

Takes less than 3 minutes. Here's the exact process.
Step 1: Go to the activation page or DoorDash app
Visit doordash.com/dashpass/partner/chase/card or open the DoorDash mobile app. If you don't have an account, create one with your email.
Step 2: Add your eligible Chase card as a payment method
Go to Account → Payment Methods → Add a new card. Enter your Chase card number manually — Apple Pay and Google Pay do not qualify. Set it as your default payment method.
Step 3: Click the activation button
After adding your card, you'll see an activation prompt. Confirm enrollment. You should see "DashPass Active" immediately.
Step 4: Verify your credits appear
- Sapphire Reserve: Your $5 restaurant credit and two $10 non-restaurant credits should appear in your promotion wallet
- Sapphire Preferred: Your $10 non-restaurant credit should show up as an available promo
- Freedom / co-branded cards: Your $10 quarterly credit will be available in the promo wallet
Critical rule: You can only have one Chase card enrolled per DoorDash account at a time. You cannot stack multiple cards' monthly credits on the same account. Choose the card with the highest benefit tier.
Important: Do not pay via Apple Pay or Google Pay at checkout — you must use your Chase card directly as the payment method, or DashPass benefits will not apply.
How to Actually Use Your Monthly Credits (Don't Let Them Expire)

The credits don't roll over. Here's how to make sure you use every dollar.
Chase Sapphire Reserve: Maximizing $25/Month
You receive three separate credits each month: one $5 restaurant credit and two $10 non-restaurant credits.
The $5 restaurant credit:
- Applies automatically at checkout on restaurant orders — you don't need to manually toggle it on
- Expires at the end of each calendar month; unused amounts are forfeited
- Minimum order subtotal of $12 applies
The two $10 non-restaurant credits:
- These must be manually selected at checkout — toggle "Chase monthly benefit" on the promo screen
- Each $10 credit must be used in a single order; any unused portion of that $10 is forfeited
- Available at grocery stores, convenience stores, alcohol retailers, pharmacies, and DashMart
- Best strategy: plan two separate $10+ orders each month from places like 7-Eleven, CVS, Walgreens, or a local grocery store
Watch out: DoorDash requires you to tap through multiple "Continue" screens before reaching the promo wallet. Don't tap past it — the toggle to apply your Chase credit appears near the end of the checkout flow.
Total monthly value: $25 in credits ($300/year) — on top of the free DashPass membership worth $120/year.
Chase Sapphire Preferred: Using Your $10/Month
You get one $10 non-restaurant promo each month.
- Must be manually toggled on at checkout
- Plan a $10+ grocery or convenience order each month — household staples, beverages, snacks, or pharmacy items work well
- Set a monthly calendar reminder so you don't forget; it does not roll over to the following month
Total monthly value: $10 in credits ($120/year) — plus the free DashPass membership.
Freedom & Co-Branded Cards: Your $10 Quarterly Credit
You receive one $10 non-restaurant promo per calendar quarter.
- Applies to grocery, convenience, alcohol, retail, or DashMart orders only
- Must be toggled on manually at checkout
- Set a quarterly calendar reminder (start of each new quarter: January, April, July, October)
- Since it's quarterly, you can save it for a larger planned order rather than rushing to use it
Choosing the Right Card for Your DoorDash Usage

Match your ordering habits to the card that gives you the most value.
Light User (1–2 orders/month)
Best choice: Chase Freedom Unlimited®
Runner-up: Chase Sapphire Preferred®
[[ COMPARE_CARD * {"ids": ["497", "509"], "bestCategoryIds":["17", "18", "19"], "bestForTexts":["Fantastic Cash Back Card", "Exceptional Travel Value"]} ]]
Moderate User (3–5 orders/month)
Best choice: Chase Sapphire Preferred®
Runner-up: Chase Sapphire Reserve®
[[ COMPARE_CARD * {"ids": ["509", "510"], "bestCategoryIds":["17", "18", "19"], "bestForTexts":["Exceptional Travel Value", "High-Value Perks"]} ]]
Heavy User (6+ orders/month)
Best choice: Chase Sapphire Reserve®
Multi-Card Stacking Strategy
A little-known trick for getting even more free DashPass time.
If you hold multiple eligible Chase cards, you can extend your free DashPass coverage beyond the standard benefit period by activating cards in sequence.
How it works:
- Activate your highest-benefit card first (e.g., Sapphire Preferred — free through 12/31/2027)
- When that benefit period ends, switch your default payment method to a second eligible card (e.g., a Freedom or co-branded card)
- This triggers the 12-month free DashPass benefit on the new card
- You can continue this cycle as long as you have eligible cards that haven't previously been used for the benefit
Important rules:
- You cannot reactivate the offer on a card where you've already used the free DashPass benefit
- Only one card can be enrolled per DoorDash account at a time
- Switching default payment cards will transfer your benefit to the new card's tier
For Sapphire cardholders, you're already covered through 12/31/2027 — so the multi-card strategy is most useful for Freedom and co-branded cardholders looking to extend beyond their initial 12-month window.
DashPass vs. Competing Delivery Memberships
How DashPass stacks up against Uber One and Grubhub+.

Verdict: DashPass has the broadest restaurant and merchant coverage, and being free with most Chase cards makes it the clear winner for cardholders. Uber One makes more sense if you heavily use Uber for rides. Grubhub+ is worth considering only if your preferred local restaurants are exclusively on Grubhub.
FAQs
The most common questions we hear about Chase DashPass benefits.
Can I use Apple Pay or Google Pay and still get DashPass benefits?
No. As of the updated terms (effective February 1, 2025), payments made through third-party digital wallets like Apple Pay or Google Pay do not qualify. You must enter your Chase card directly as the payment method.
Can I share my DashPass with family members?
DashPass memberships are tied to individual DoorDash accounts. However, authorized users on eligible Chase cards (like the Sapphire Reserve) can activate their own complimentary DashPass on their own DoorDash account using their authorized user card.
Can I activate the benefit on more than one Chase card?
You can only have one Chase card enrolled in your DoorDash account at any time. However, if you have multiple eligible cards, you can activate on one card and later switch to another once the first benefit period expires — provided you haven't already used that second card's free DashPass offer before.
What happens after December 31, 2027?
For Sapphire cardholders, your DashPass membership will auto-renew at the standard monthly rate after 12/31/2027 unless you cancel. Chase and DoorDash have committed to the partnership through the end of 2027. After that, the terms may renew, change, or end.
What happens if I close or downgrade my Chase card?
If you close your account or product change to a non-eligible card, your DashPass benefits will end. If you downgrade to another eligible card, your benefits will shift to the lower tier available with the new card.
Can I stack Chase credits with DoorDash promo codes?
Generally yes — Chase monthly credits and DoorDash promotional codes are applied as separate promos and can typically be combined. Some restrictions may apply during special promotional periods.
Do I need to re-activate every month to get my credits?
No. Monthly and quarterly credits are automatically loaded into your promotion wallet each period. You simply need to remember to manually toggle them on at checkout — they don't apply automatically.
Does free DashPass work on Caviar?
Yes. Your complimentary DashPass works on both DoorDash and Caviar. You must use the same login credentials on both platforms and add your Chase card separately on Caviar.
Final Verdict — Don't Leave This on the Table
What to do based on which card you have.
If you have a Chase Sapphire Reserve®: Activate DashPass immediately if you haven't.
If you have a Chase Sapphire Preferred®: Activate DashPass and set a monthly reminder to use your non-restaurant credit.
If you have a Chase Freedom Flex® or Freedom Unlimited®: Activate for the free 12 months with no downside. Set a quarterly reminder for your non-restaurant credit. When the 12 months are up, consider whether upgrading to a Sapphire card makes sense.
If you have a Chase co-branded card (Hyatt, Marriott, United, Southwest, etc.): You get 12 free months and quarterly credits. Activate and stack the strategy with a second eligible card later if you want extended coverage.
Your 3-step action plan:
- Check which Chase card(s) you hold against the table in Section 3
- Activate DashPass at doordash.com/dashpass/partner/chase/card
- Set monthly (or quarterly) calendar reminders to use your non-restaurant credits before they expire
The benefit is guaranteed through at least 2027. Activation takes 3 minutes. There's no reason to leave this unused.
