Best CLT Lounges by Terminal (Concourses A, B, C, D & E)

A terminal-by-terminal guide to the lounges at CLT.

Overview of CLT’s Terminal Layout & Lounges

Charlotte Douglas International Airport has five concourses (A, B, C, D, E) radiating from a central atrium. The good news for travelers is that all these terminals are connected airside, meaning once you’re through security, you can walk between any gates without leaving security or taking a shuttle. This makes it possible to use a lounge in a different concourse from your departure gate, time permitting.

Concourse A has two lounges (The Club CLT and a Delta Sky Club). Concourse B has an Admirals Club. Concourse C has no lounge inside it, but an Admirals Club is just at the C/D junction. Concourse D is lounge-rich – hosting the Centurion Lounge, an Admirals Club (shared with C), and a Minute Suites. Concourse E has a specialized lounge (Gameway) and easy access to D’s lounges nearby, plus the USO in the Atrium.

Terminal (Concourse) A – Lounges: The Club CLT & Delta Sky Club

If you’re in Concourse A, you have two lounges available: The Club CLT and the Delta Sky Club. Concourse A is split into A North (main area, gates A1-A13) and the newer A Extension (gates A21-A29 and A30-A39). The lounges are conveniently located for each side:

  • The Club CLT – Located in Concourse A North, just past the Atrium connector, near gate A21/A22. It’s on the second level up an elevator. Open 5:00am – 9:30pm daily. This is a Priority Pass-access lounge (and pay-for-entry) open to all travelers.
  • Delta Sky Club – Located in Concourse A Extension, near gate A38 on the mezzanine level. Open 5:00am – 8:00pm. This lounge is for Delta passengers with Sky Club access (membership or certain credit cards; no general pay access).

Best option in A: It depends on your status. If you are flying Delta or have Amex Platinum, the Delta Sky Club will likely be your best bet – it’s large, new, and usually not overcrowded. It features a substantial buffet and even quiet booths for work. For anyone not flying Delta, The Club CLT is your go-to lounge in Terminal A. The Club offers a decent spread of snacks and a shower, and accepts Priority Pass.

Terminal B – Lounge: Admirals Club (American Airlines)

Concourse B is dominated by American Airlines flights, and fittingly it has an American Admirals Club. The Admirals Club in B is located just past security in Concourse B, near gate B3 (upper level). It’s open roughly 5:15am – 10:45pm. This is one of two Admirals Clubs at CLT (the other being at C/D connector). The B concourse lounge tends to be the busier of the two, as many AA flights depart from B gates.

Aside from the Admirals Club, Concourse B has no other lounges. If you don’t have Admirals access and you’re in B, your nearest alternate lounge is The Club in Concourse A (a short walk through the atrium) or the Centurion in D, but those are a bit further.

Best option in B: The Admirals Club is the only lounge in B, so it wins by default – but it’s a solid choice. If you have Admirals Club membership, definitely take advantage. This lounge offers a comfortable escape: complimentary snacks, coffee, and a full bar (plus food for purchase). For business travelers or those needing quiet, it has work areas and lots of seating.

If you don’t have access to Admirals Club, you might consider walking to The Club (Concourse A) using a Priority Pass, or even heading to Minute Suites in the Atrium if you need quiet and have Priority Pass.

Terminal C – Lounges: (None in C, but Admirals Club nearby)

Concourse C is another American Airlines concourse (mainly regional and some mainline flights). Unfortunately, Concourse C does not have a lounge inside its own area. However, right at the boundary of C and D (where they meet) is the Admirals Club at the C/D Connector.

This lounge is technically in the connector building between Concourse C and D, one level up. It’s shared for passengers of both concourses. So while not in Concourse C proper, it’s effectively the lounge serving Concourse C gates. The Admirals Club (C/D) is open 5:15am – 10:15pm.

Aside from that Admirals Club, there are no other lounges in C. The next closest lounge for non-AA access would be the Centurion Lounge in D/E, which is a short walk from the far end of C (since D and C are adjacent and connected).

Best option in C: Without question, the Admirals Club at C/D connector is the go-to lounge for Concourse C travelers. If you are departing from a C gate, this lounge is very close – particularly if your gate is towards the higher end (C13-C20, etc., which are near the D connector). Even if you’re at a lower-numbered C gate, the walk to the lounge is just a few minutes. This Admirals Club is spacious and often slightly less crowded than the one in Concourse B because it’s tucked between C and D.

Terminal D – Lounges: Admirals Club, Centurion Lounge, Minute Suites

Concourse D at CLT is the international long-haul concourse and also hosts many American flights. It’s a jackpot for lounges:

  • American Admirals Club (C/D connector) – at the start of Concourse D (overlaps with C). We discussed it above; it serves C and D gates alike.
  • American Express Centurion Lounge – located between Concourse D and E on the upper level (The Plaza). You access it via an elevator near the Duty Free area in D/E connector. Open 5:30am – 10:30pm.
  • Minute Suites – located in Concourse D/E connector near gate D1 (street level). Open 24/7.

Best option in D: For most travelers, the Centurion Lounge is the crown jewel in Concourse D. If you have Amex Platinum or Centurion access, this is the premier spot – great food, bar, work areas, etc., as described earlier. It’s one of the best lounges in the whole airport (and indeed in Concourse D).

If your priority is absolute quiet or sleep, consider the Minute Suites in D. Especially for an international traveler coming off a red-eye or facing a long layover, renting a suite for an hour or two to nap can be golden. Priority Pass holders get one hour free, which might tip the scales if you’re deciding between trying to stay awake in a lounge versus getting 40 winks in private.

For international first/business class travelers on partner airlines (like British Airways, Lufthansa, etc.), you may have access to Admirals Club or partner lounges, but CLT is limited in that regard (no separate Oneworld lounge, for instance). They often direct such passengers to Admirals or The Club. So in D, likely Admirals or Centurion are still top picks.

Terminal E – Lounges: Gameway (Priority Pass Gaming Lounge); plus access to D’s lounges

Concourse E is primarily the domain of American Eagle (regional flights). It’s the longest concourse with many small gates. In terms of lounges:

  • Gameway – a video game lounge located in Concourse E, near gate E36. Open 7:00am – 8:00pm. This is a bit different from a traditional lounge: it’s basically a venue with gaming stations (PlayStation, Xbox, PC setups) where travelers can play video games.
  • No standard lounge inside E for food/relaxation. However, Concourse E is connected to D at its beginning (the “Plaza” area), so Centurion Lounge and Admirals (D) are a short walk from early E gates (E1-E10).
  • The USO Military Lounge is located in the main Atrium. That’s for active/retired military and family, open 6am-8pm.

Best option in E: If you’re not interested in gaming, you’ll likely treat Concourse D’s lounges as your lounges for E. Many savvy travelers departing E will pop into the Centurion Lounge (if eligible) or Admirals Club in D before heading down to the E gates. Since E is mostly American Eagle, Admirals Club access (for AA flyers) is quite relevant – you’d go to the Admirals at C/D, then later walk to your E gate when boarding.

Now, if you are a gamer or have kids/teens to entertain, Gameway in E might be a fun diversion. It’s not a lounge with food or drinks (though they have snacks for purchase). Instead, you get a personal gaming station with a recliner chair, a big 4K TV, and your choice of consoles (PS4, Xbox, high-end gaming PC) with a library of games. Priority Pass members get 1 hour free gameplay which includes a snack and a drink.

For military members, if you’re in E you’re actually very close to the USO Lounge (in the Atrium near E security). That lounge offers free snacks, coffees, a place to rest, even a gaming room and library for servicemembers. It’s an excellent resource if you qualify – likely the best lounge for you in that case, above all others, because it’s free and catered to your needs.

Navigating which lounge you can access in each terminal can be confusing – different concourses, different cards, different rules. Kudos is like your co-pilot for these decisions. Before your next Charlotte trip, set up Kudos (it’s quick and free) and let it streamline the credit card juggling, so you can focus on enjoying the lounge – not figuring out how to get in. Many travelers report finding new card perks they didn’t even realize they had, all thanks to Kudos’ smart reminders. FAQs – Lounges by Terminal at CLT

Which terminal is the American Express Centurion Lounge in at CLT?

The Centurion Lounge is located in the Plaza between Terminal D and E. It’s an upstairs lounge accessible from the intersection of Concourses D & E. So you can think of it as effectively part of Concourse D (international terminal), since you reach it right as you enter D/E. If you’re in A, B, or C, you’ll have to walk to the D/E connector to get there (roughly 10 minutes from A, 5 from B or C).

What lounge is in Concourse B at Charlotte?

Concourse B has an American Airlines Admirals Club. It’s near gate B3 on the mezzanine level. This is the only lounge in Terminal B. You’ll need Admirals Club membership, a qualifying credit card, or a day pass (and a same-day AA boarding pass) to enter. There are no Priority Pass or other third-party lounges in B. So for non-AA flyers, B has no lounge unless you walk to another concourse.

Is there a lounge in Concourse C at CLT?

Not directly inside Concourse C. There are no lounges in the Concourse C wing. However, just adjacent at the C/D connector, there is an Admirals Club (serving C gates). So practically, yes AA passengers from C can use that Admirals Club. For others, the nearest lounge would be the Centurion Lounge in D (a short walk from C) or The Club in A (a bit further). So while C itself lacks a lounge room, lounges are accessible within a few minutes’ walk.

I’m flying out of Concourse E. Can I use a lounge in another terminal?

Yes, absolutely. Since all terminals are connected airside, you can go to Concourse D’s Centurion Lounge or Admirals Club before your flight in E. Many people do this because E has no full-service lounge except the Gameway (which is a gaming lounge). Just monitor your time – E gates can be a 10-15 minute walk from the D/E Plaza. Aim to leave the lounge by the boarding time (or slightly before) of your E flight.

How far is the Centurion Lounge from Concourse A? Will I have time between flights?

From Concourse A (near the Atrium) to the Centurion Lounge (D/E connector) is about a 10 minute walk at a normal pace. If you’re at a far A gate (A29-A39), maybe add a couple more minutes to backtrack to the Atrium first. Many travelers with layovers do exactly this – land at A, hike to Centurion for a bite, then go to next gate. If you have at least an hour layover, you have time to go to Centurion and enjoy a quick refreshment.

Can I walk from Terminal E to the Admirals Club in Terminal D without leaving security?

Yes. All concourses A through E are connected inside security at CLT. Walking from an E gate to the Admirals Club (C/D connector) just means walking down E into D. For example, from E30 area to the Admirals Club might be ~10 minutes walking. You do not have to exit or re-clear security. It’s one continuous airside area. So feel free to head over to Admirals Club in D, enjoy, then walk back to E for your flight (just keep an eye on time since E has many gates and your gate could be a bit of a walk).

Are there any lounges in CLT that I can access if I’m flying internationally out of D?

If you’re flying international business or first class out of D, your ticket may grant you Admirals Club access (for AA international premium cabins or Oneworld status). Also, Priority Pass won’t help in D except for the Minute Suites, since Centurion requires Amex. So if you don’t have the airline status or Amex card, note that The Club in A is actually accessible with Priority Pass if you have time to go there (though not in D, it’s an option).

Concourse D is lounge-rich – hosting the Centurion Lounge, an Admirals Club (shared with C), and a Minute Suites. Concourse E has a specialized lounge (Gameway) and easy access to D’s lounges nearby, plus the USO in the Atrium.

Best Lounges at CLT Airport (Overall Top Picks for 2025)

Overview of CLT’s Terminal Layout & Lounges

Charlotte Douglas International Airport has five concourses (A, B, C, D, E) radiating from a central atrium.
